Modern Retro Inspired Computers

C256 Foenix
The C256 Foenix is a “new” retro computer based on the WDC 65C816 running @ 14Mhz. The idea behind this creation is to come up with a computer that could have possibly followed the Commodore 128 if things would have been different at Commodore at the time.
MSXVR
MSXVR is a computer that is compatible at hardware and software level for the MSX family home computers in aspects and design with the addition of new functionality and characteristics that permit the enjoyment of modern day computers whilst respecting its heritage from times when mankind and computers were forged and where present in many households.
Commander X16
The Commander X16 is David Murray aka The 8-Bit Guy’s dream computer, designed to evoke the same fondness and nostalgia many of us had for 8-Bit computers, whilst retaining closeness to the hardware from a programming perspective, unlike the Raspberry Pi and others. But more than that, it is intended not only as an educational tool but to solve some of the issues of finding an 8-Bit system to tinker with today; namely ever-increasing costs, auction site price gouging/sniping, and unreliability of 30-year old hardware.
Colour Maximite 2
The Colour Maximite 2 is a small self contained computer inspired by the home computers of the early 80's such as the Tandy TRS-80, Commodore 64 and Apple II. It uses a USB keyboard and outputs to a standard VGA monitor. Programs are saved on a full size SD card and it boots straight into its own sophisticated BASIC interpreter with a full screen program editor.
Mega 65
The 21st century realization of the C65 heritage: A complete 8-bit computer running around 40x faster than a C64 while being highly compatible. C65 design, mechanical keyboard, HD output, SD card support, Ethernet, extended memory and other features increase the fun without spoiling the 8-bit feel. Hardware designs and software are open-source (LGPL).
